A vibrant sounding instrument consisting of 5 synthetic sound chambers attached to rattan sticks and bound to a bamboo handle. Each sound chamber is decorated in a traditional painted pattern and topped with a Jentri Bead for added decoration. The sound is light and playful due to the very fine beads used in the construction and the 5 chambers gives multiple layers of sound when played. |

Pangi Seed Maraca

The seed case of the Pangium edule tree is used to great effect in this instrument. Many Pangi seeds are bound to a bamboo handle with natural twine. It creates a deep and dry rattle when played. The bamboo handle is further decorated with an etched pattern and finished with twine binding.

Pangi Seed Rope Handle Maraca

The seed cases of the Pangium edule tree are joined together with natural twine and attached to a delicately plaited rope handle. This instrument, similar to those used across Africa is held in the hand or attached to the ankles and used in dance ceremonies. It creates a deep dry rattle sound. |
